HOUSTON -- Valero Energy Corp. (VLO) reported Tuesday that it was undertaking unplanned work at its Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery, according to a filing with environmental regulators. The work is supposed to happen at the west plant of the 288,468 barrel a day refinery. Valero said in the report that it was "completing maintenance and returning to normal operation as quickly as possible." Bill Day, spokesman for Valero, said that the work was on an electrical subsystem. "There was no material impact to production," he said in an email.
