· GOOG – reaches internet traffic deal w/Verizon – per the terms of the deal, Verizon will not block or slow traffic over land lines but could do so to wireless devices; on land lines, VZ can charge more for priority service from companies who pay for such a privilege; it is hoped that the GOOG/VZ pact will serve as a template for other telco firms to strike their own carriage deals; the FCC is trying to broke deals at the moment between industry plays – Reuters/WSJ
