Basel expected to reach a global plan on capital by next week - The committee drafting
the new "Basel III" rules will meet in Switzerland on Tuesday Sept 7, paving the way for a
final endorsement of the reforms by G20 leaders in November. The Basel committee will
seek to get Germany on board for the new capital regs (there are reports this morning
signaling that Germany will sign off on the new Basel rules next week). London
