Second worker has died from injuries caused by an explosion at a refinery owned by state oil company Petroleos

MEXICO CITY (Dow Jones)--A second worker has died from injuries caused by an explosion at a refinery owned by state oil company Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, the company said Thursday. Rodolfo Montemayor Mota, 49, had suffered burns over 80% of his body when a hydrogen compressor leak caused the blast at a fuel hydrodesulfurizing plant at the Cadereyta refinery complex in northern Mexico, Pemex said. A 32-year-old worker died during the blast and fire on Tuesday. Pemex said two workers remained hospitalized, including one who was in very serious condition, and four had been released. The company said earlier that a coker at the refinery is expected to restart Saturday, and that its fuel supplies are sufficient. Pemex is still investigating the accident. -By Laurence Iliff, Dow Jones Newswires; 52-55-5980-5184; laurence.iliff@dowjones.com
